Two persons on board an aircraft that crashed on Oba Akran Road Ikeja, Lagos State on Tuesday survived the crash.
The two survivors have been taken to Lagos State Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Ikeja for treatment.
The Jabiru J430, a light single engine airplane marked 5N-CCQ dropped in the middle of Oba Akran Road Ikeja at about 1500hrs (3:00pm), local time.
Sources cloned to the scene of the crash claimed that aircraft dropped from about 1500ft sea level while it was less than one nautical mile away from runway L18 of Murtala Muhammed Airport Lagos.
A video footage on the accident showed that the aircraft burst into flame immediate it had impact with the median on Oba Akran Road.
Reliable industry source said the aircraft operated by Air First Hospitality and Tour was on a test flight; took off from the domestic wing of the Lagos Airport and was on the circuit when it dropped.
Meanwhile the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has confirmed the accident saying, it has been notified and commenced investigation.
The NSIB has therefore solicited information from the general public in form of pictures, video or recording evidences to assist in conducting a comprehensive investigation into the crash.
