Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has named Passport Intervention centres for Nigerians in the United Kingdom.
This was made known in a statement e-Signed by its spokesperson, Akinsola Akinlabi, a Deputy Comptroller of Immigration (DCI) on Monday, August 31, 2026.
In the statement, Akinlabi stated that the service has deployed a Passport Intervention Team from its Headquarters in Abuja to the United Kingdom to provide passport services to Nigerians in selected locations.
He said the intervention exercise, carried out on the directives of the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, will cover London, Manchester, Aberdeen and Cardiff.
The exercise is being organised following consultations with the High Commission of Nigeria and representatives of Nigerian communities in the UK.
Accordingly, London and Manchester, the intervention will run from September 7 to 19, 2026.
The London exercise will take place at Layali Lounge, Trent Park, Bramley Road, London N14 4UW, while the Manchester exercise will be held at Nigerian House, 23 Platt Lane, Manchester M14 5NE.
The intervention team will subsequently move to Aberdeen and Cardiff from September 21 to 26, 2026.
The Aberdeen exercise, according to the statement, will be held at Hilton Convention Centre, 13 Smithfield Road, Aberdeen, AB24 4NR, while applicants in Cardiff will be attended to at Sophia Gardens, Sophia Walk, Cardiff CF11 9XR.
The NIS said the exercise is open to eligible Nigerians in the specified locations and surrounding areas who wish to obtain new passports, renew existing passports or resolve pending passport applications.
It added that applicants are required to apply and make payment through the NIS Passport Application Portal before visiting their preferred venue, where they are also expected to present a completed application form, payment slips as proof of payment, appointment slip, self-addressed return envelope and, in the case of passport renewal, their current passport.
The Service warned that applicants who come with cash will not be attended to, urging all applicants to cooperate with immigration officials to ensure a smooth and orderly exercise.
The NIS further clarified that all its digital passport application channels, including the Contactless Passport Application System, remain fully operational. Home delivery service is also available to applicants.
