JMTF arrests another 14 suspected touts at Lagos Airport

Some of the suspected touts arrested by the operatives of the Joint Monitoring Taskforce (JMTF) during the raid conducted at the landside, Murtala Muhammed international Airport Lagos on Sunday  night.

 

In its efforts to rid the land side area of Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, of touts and other miscreants, the Joint Monitoring Taskforce (JMTF) attached  to the Lagos  Airport arrested another 14 persons suspected touts and miscreants who have been making life difficult for passengers and other users of the airport.

The JMTF consists of personnel from the office of the Military Airport Commandant (MAC) National Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and Federal Airports  Authority of Nigeria ( FAAN) Aviation Security (AVSEC).

The raid conducted on the night of Sunday August 27,  2023, was one of the successful raids which the JMTF started about a month ago

The JMTF has vowed to consistently conduct continuous unscheduled raids on suspected touts and miscreants’ hideouts within the airport until the least of the undesirable elements are sent out of the Lagos Airport.

Arrested suspects, are usually transferred to the operational base of FAAN AVSEC, known as Tango City, from where they are profiled and handed over to Nigeria Police Force, Airport Command, for prosecution at the law courts.
