The new Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk has assumed leadership of the agency.
Farouk emphasized renewed commitment to safety and industry standards as his major areas of focus during his tenure in office as the Chief Executive Officer at NAMA.
The new CEO who is bringing three decades of wealth of experience on board as the helmsman at NAMA, has declared a state of emergency on power within the agency, to enhance operational efficiency. He also promised to prioritize communication and airspace stability, welfare of both active and retired staff.
Since he transferred his service from Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity to NAMA in 2002, has shown his prowess in engineering and strategic deployment of critical systems such as Instrument landing system and Doppler, Very High Frequency (VHF) Omnidirectional radio range.
Declareing his commitment to safety in Nigerian Airspace, Engr. Farouk pledged zero tolerance for air accident with strict emphasize on adherence to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) safety sstandards even as he also called for collective responsibility.
Commending his predecessor, Engr. Tayib Odunowo, for effectively tackling numerous challenges in the airspace, Farouk promised to continue to build on the commendable work.
