FAAN staff gets marching order on operational efficiency, revenue generation as Kuku assumes office

The newly appointed Managing Director/Chief Executive , Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs Olubunmi Kuku has charged staff of the airport Authority to be more efficient in operations and revenue generation.

Kuku gave the charge on Monday at the FAAN Headquarters Annex  Lagos, during a brief take over ceremony and a meeting  with General Managers and Airport Managers across the country.

FAAN’s Legal Adviser and Cv6ompany Secretary, Barrister Bridget Gold presented the handover note given to her by immediate past Managing Director / Chief Executive of FAAN, Alhaji Kabir Yusuf Mohammed.

Reeling out her vosion for the agency, Kuku asserted that while she is set to build on the good legacy of the past administration in FAAN, she insisted that professionalism,  seamless passengers facilitation, safety and standards would not be compromised, She added that revenue generation for the sector will be prioritise while wastages will be eliminated.

“Under my leadership, revenue generation will be optimised and waste will be eliminated as much as possible. Staff welfare will also be a priority but I also expect the staff to be committed to put their best. As every institution is only as powerful as the human resources managing it, we will prioritise the improvement of institutional and human capacity. Working in collaboration with national and international bodies, we will promote the image of Nigeria and strengthen the network of FAAN,” she added.
In tune with the challenges ahead her in the sector as the yuletide season rolls in,  Kuku explained that she was already drawing up tactics to deal with this.
She said, “There is an urgency of yesterday in revving up our operations as we have fully entered the busiest season of the year for airline operations. To this end, we shall be interfacing with the various professional interests, sister agencies and partners to ensure we have smooth, safe and secure operations throughout the season. Let us do our jobs with patriotism and a smile on our faces, spreading the joy of the Yuletide.”

She therefore enjoined members of staff to rally round her as she begins with the processes to transform the airport Authority they will all be proud of

As Management, we carry a huge responsibility to the nation, the flying public(s); the airlines; the international community. Join me to give our customers the best airport experience that is efficient, safe, secure and fun,” she appealed
