Buhari renames airports, constitutes boards for aviation agencies

Out going President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the renaming of some airports after some prominent Nigerians in recognition of their individual contributions to the development of the nation in different sectors.
Buhari has also approved the constitution of Boards for the six aviation agencies  in the country.

A statement by the Head, Press and Public Affairs, Ministry of Aviation, Odutayo Oluseyi said Buhari approved the renaming and constitution of the  boards of the Aviation agencies, who are mostly institutional representations, on Friday. May 26, 2023.

It would be recalled that the outgoing Minister  of Aviation and Aerospace, Senator Hadi Sirika had during his last visit to Lagos vowed that re-organization of the Aviation sector will continue till May 29, 2023.

Below are the new names of the airports as approved by the outgoing President:

Akure International Airport  now Dr. Benard Babatunde Aliu

Benin International Airport  now Oba Akezua II International Airport

Dutse International Airport Mohammed Nuhu Sanusi

Ebonyi  International Airport now Chuba Wilberforce Okadigbo

Gombe International Airport now Brig Maimalari

Ibadan International Airport  now Samuel Ladoke Akintola International Airport

Ilorin International Airport  now

Gen. Tunde Abdulbaki IdiagbonInternational Airport
