Awe takes over as new MMA Customs Area Controller

A new Custom Area Comptroller (CAC) has taken over at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS). He is Comptroller Micheal Toyin Awe.

The new Comptroller took over from Comptroller Molid Sani Yusuf  who has been transferred to  Trarrif and Trade (T and T) at the service headquarters, Abuja.

Speaking at the event Awe said that even though he is not entirely new at the Command,  promised to  build on the existing structure just as he solicited cooperation and support of all and sundry to succeed

Earlier in his handover speech, Yusuf who spoke about his experience as the helsmanship at the Command, said he was able to meet the revenue target for the Command.

“I want to introduce the new Customs Area Controller of the Command to you all having served my one year and three months, just as he insisted that he was able to do resolve all crises through open door policy.

“At resumption here, the daily revenue target was two hundred and twenty five million naira (₦225,000,000.00), but shortly after, the target was increased to four hundred million naira (₦400,000,000.00). To the glory of God, we were able to make 90.2% of the target amount”.

He added “We were able to manage the crisis because we were operating an open door policy which greatly helped in terms of stakeholders engagement and revenue generation. We made a total of Ninety Billion Naira as revenue last year against the Sixty Eight Billion of the previous year”.

Yusuf also urged the officers to rededicate themselves to duty and give full support to the new CAC as he aslo advises CAC Awe to have a listening ear and to operate an open door policy in order to succeed at his new position.

The outgone CAC in a goodwill officers of the command commended as a very detailed, intelligent and open minded officer.

Speaking o his part, the Deputy Comptroller Revenue at the Command,  Iortyer NJ  commended the qualities of the outgoing Comptroller.

He noted that because of the intelligence and open minded nature of the outgone Comptroller, the Command was  able to generate  above the target for the first quarter.

DC Iortyer added that the Command generated four billion naira in January and acheived same amount in February and hit sixteen billion naira mark in March, 202.
