Air Peace gives update on Abuja flight disruptions

Management of Air Peace Limited has attributed the disruptions of its Abuja flight to unavailability of Jet A1 fuel at Abuja Airport and Visual Flight Rules ( VFR) to Maiduguri Airport

In a statement on Saturday evening, the airline said unavialability of Jet A1 fuel which affected other domestic operators at Abuja Airport initially responsible for the delays and following the availability of Jet A1 fuel it could not operate from Abuja to Maiduguri Airport, because of its Visual Flight Rules (VFR).0

“We wish to provide an update regarding the flight disruptions experienced at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

“The initial delays to our Abuja operations were occasioned by the unavailability of Jet A1 aviation fuel, which affected Air Peace and other airlines operating from the airport. Upon the availability of fuel, our affected flights commenced operations accordingly.

“However, our Abuja–Maiduguri service could not subsequently operate as planned. Although an extension had initially been granted for the flight, by the time the aircraft was ready for boarding, prevailing Visual Flight Rules (VFR) conditions  that the extension was no longer tenable, as the flight could not operate beyond sunset,” the airline explained

Air Peace which affirmed that passengers were duly informed of the delays and provided with refreshments added that following the cancellation, affected passengers were also provided with hotel accommodation, with arrangements made to operate the flight the following day..

The airline therefore tendered its unreserved apologies to the affected passengers assuring safety and wellbeing of its passengers remain paramount as it continues to provide excellent services.

“We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused to our esteemed passengers and appreciate their patience and understanding. At Air Peace, the safety and wellbeing of our passengers remain paramount, and we will continue to prioritise these considerations in all our operations,”
