ACM Wobin resumes as Zonal Commanding Officer RS4HQ Jos, begins special patrol 

The new Zonal Commanding Officer of  Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Zone RS4HQ Jos, ACM Gora Wobin

 

The new Zonal Commanding Officer of  Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Zone RS4HQ Jos, ACM Gora Wobin has resumed duties at the Zonal headquarters, Jos.

In a release signed by Acting Zonal Public Education Officer, Route Commander Olusegun Owoeye, said as part of efforts to achieve his mandate to move the Zone to greater heights, Wobin on resumption of duties approved the deployment of 3077 personnel comprising of 1969 Regular and 1108 Special Marshal to be engaged in traffic management, prompt rescue service, clearing of obstructions, public education, and enforcement during Eid-el- fitri special operations.

“Speaking after reviewing a parade mounted to welcome him to Jos, the new Zonal Commanding Officer stressed on the need for improved collaboration with sister agencies and stakeholders such as traditional rulers, religious readers and individuals who are willing to partner with the corps in achieving its mandate to ensure that the corps repositions, strengthens, and sustains road safety programmes,” the statement added.

Wobin also emphasized on the need for the staff to be of better service to the public on FRSC products and be civil in discharging their duties.

The new Zonal Commanding officer promised to provide leadership that will move Zone RS4 to greater heights.

“Begining from May 11 to 17, 2021 all operational vehicles and other logistics shall be fully deployed for maximum impact,” the statement added.

The statement informed further that focus of the operation includes tackling speeding and dangerous driving, wrongful overtaken,use of phone while driving, lane indiscipline,route violation, road obstructions, overloading, illegal use of SPY/ number plate violation, driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and other intoxicant, seat belt/child restraint use violation, operation of mechanical deficient and rickety vehicles, worn Out tyres violation and windshield violation amongst others.

It assured that all major corridors in the Zone such as the Abuja-Keffi, Gwantu – Jos, Akwanga – Lafia – Makurdi, Lafia – Shendam – Langtang – Pankshin – Jos, Jos – Bauchi, Jos – Saminaka, Gboko – Katsina- Ala, Gboko – Aliade, Otukpo – Otukpa – Ogbollo Afor will be adequately covered.

The statement however enjoined members of the public to inform the FRSC formations of road obstructions, gridlock, road traffic crashes and other emergency issues requiring FRSC attention, on the Toll free telephone number 122 or 0700CALLFRSC(07002255377).

The ZCO also disclosed that the Corps will collaborate with the military, Sister Security agencies, state traffic agencies, fire service and other

The FRSC Zone RS4HQ Jos, comprises of Plateau, Benue and Nasarawa States.

Before his redeployment, ACM Wobin was the sector commander RS7.1 FCT Abuja.

ACM Wobin replaced erstwhile Zonal Commanding Officer Zone 4, Jos, ACM Kayode Olagunju PhD, mni, FCILT who has been moved to FRSC Academy Udi Enugu state as the commandant.

While wishing all road users safe journey during and after the EID-EL-FITRI celebrations, the Zonal Commanding Officer enjoined them to observe all COVID 19 protocols.
