178 Nigerians who escaped alive from xenophobic attacks in South Africa have arrived Nigeria.
The Nigerians arrived the Murtala Muhammed international Airport, Ikeja Lagos about a Boeing 777 aircraft operated by Air Peace Limited at about 9:35pm local time.
Among the passengers were female and male infants, children and adults.
The voluntary returnees who were full of bitterness against their former host country, South Africa were however full of praises to the Federal Government of Nigeria and management of Air Peace for saving their lives with the evacuation.
On hand to receive them at the cargo terminal of the Lagos airport were the adviser to President Buhari on Diaspora matters, Hon Abike Dabiri Arewa, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Air Peace Dr. Allen Onyema, officials from Nigeria Immigration Services, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
