Tinubu mourns late Namibian President, Hage Geingob

Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), has sent a message of condolence to the citizens of Republic of Namibia over the death  of their President,  His Excellency, President Hage Geingob.

President Tinubu in a message signed by himself on Sunday, expressed the condolence on behalf of the government and people of Nigeria.

“I mourn the painful loss of a veteran in the struggle for democracy, a proponent of good governance, and an advocate for economic, social, and political solidarity among African peoples,” Tinubu wrote in the statement.

He addes that the death of the South Western African leader came at a time when the continent is in dire need of more visionary leaders who believe in African common destiny.

“This tragedy comes at a time when Africa is in dire need of more visionary leaders who believe in our common destiny and who can strengthen the bonds across our borders and spread the tendrils of cooperation in all fields of human endeavour,” he added.

The Chairman of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) concluded, “As Namibia mourns, I want to assure the Republic that my thoughts and prayers, and indeed those of all Nigerians, are with you.
