Following the disruption of activities at the headquarters of Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority ( NCAA), Lagos, today by unions in the aviation industry in Nigeria, the Minister of State (Aviation) Senator Hadi Sirika has invited the leadership of Aviation Unions to a meeting today to address all issues raised by the workers.
The Aviation Unions who are at present on an industrial action disrupting services at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority’s offices, are demanding a review of the organisation’s Organogram , approval of the new Condition of Service (COS) and inauguration of Boards for the Authority.
These demands, the General Manager, Media Affairs, NCAA, Mr. Sam Adurogboye in a statement said are not within the jurisdiction of NCAA management.
A statement by the General Manager, Media Affairs, NCAA, Sam Adurogboye however assured that NCAA would work with the supervising ministry to ensure that all issues are properly addressed to the satisfaction of all parties.
“These issues are however not within the jurisdiction of NCAA management
“Therefore , the Regulatory Authority will work with the supervising ministry to ensure that all issues are properly addressed to the satisfaction of all parties.
“The Authority has absolute confidence that the meeting between the Honourable Minister and the Unions will provide amicable resolution,” he said.
NCAA however, appealed to all aviation stakeholders who were unable to access services at its offices today to remain calm as normalcy will soon be restored.
