Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on October 1, 2022 took time to celebrate the 62nd Independence anniversary of the country with staff of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) students and airport stakeholders at Ibadan Airport
The governor who arrived the airport aboard a chartered flight at about 9:00am joined the gathering of aviation workers and stakeholders to celebrate the national day.
About 100 students brought together from three schools within the airport ccommunity participated in the occassion.
The governor recited the National Anthem with the gathering and later exchanged pleasantries with the students before he departed the airport in a convoy to the City.
To celebrate this year’s independence anniversary, management and staff of FAAN, Ibadan Airport hosted stakeholders and students within the airport community to a funfair.
Some members of Ibadan Airport Community Development Association (IACDA) led by their Chairman, Mr. Abiodun Adedeji also joined in the independence anniversary celebrations.
Hand held national flags were distributed to participants at the funfair to wave while they sang and danced.
Highlights of the ceremony included quiz competition, comedies and dancing.
Popular Yoruba comedian, Sunday Omobolanle, alias Pappy ‘Luwe’ was also on stage to entertain the gathering with hilarious comedies and jokes.
Elated Ibadan Airport Manager, Mr. Adedeji Afolabi Ojo and other members staff of FAAN present at the occassions also joined the students and other stakeholders on dancing floor.
Cash rewards were given to students who perfomed excellently in the quiz competition organized by the management of the airport.
