Samuel Omotoso appointed registrar at Chrisland University

Mr Samuel Omotoso has been appointed as the substantive registrar by the Board of Trustees and Governing Council of Chrisland University, Abeokuta.

Aged 58, Omotoso has had an impressive career as an Administrator of repute spanning about three decades.

A former Registrar of Dominion University, Oyo State, he was a pioneer staffer of Bowen University where he served meritoriously for a period of 12 years in various capacities, some of which are in the Public Relations, Human Resources, Student Affairs, and Academic Planning Departments.

Between 2015 and 2020, Omotoso moved over to Edwin Clark University where he served as Deputy Registrar/Director of ICT.

In a letter signed by the University’s Principal Assistant Registrar, Establishment and Council Affairs,
Mr. Olusola E. Aladesuru, the new Registrar has already assumed duties in a substantive capacity, effective Monday, April 4, 2022.

Aladesuru disclosed that the new appointment had the backing of the University’s Chancellor, High Chief Dr. Mrs. Winifred Awosika, OON, and the Governing Council led by the Pro-Chancellor, Prof Ayodeji Olukoju.

Omotoso, the new Registrar, hails from Ekiti state. He had obtained a Higher National Diploma in Secretarial Studies from The Polytechnic Ibadan in 1990; a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the University of Ibadan in 1997 and Master Degree in Industrial and Labour Relations also from University of Ibadan in 1999.

In addition, the new appointee also graduated from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma where he bagged Bachelor of Arts in English in 2007 and a Master Degree in Social Work from Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso, Oyo State in 2011.

He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).

The Vice-Chancellor of Chrisland University, Prof Chinedum Peace Babalola, FAS, congratulated the new appointee and wished him a successful tenure in the University.
