Power restored in Lagos airport after minor glitch

Management of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has restored electricity supply after a minor electric spark occurred at the Domestic wing of the General Aviation Terminal,(GAT)  Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos at about 19:00 hours this evening.

Spokesperson of FAAN Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu who confirmed the  glitch and prompt restoration of power into the terminal said  a team of electrical engineers from the authority swung into action and put the situation under control without hindering  passengers’ facilitations or aircraft movement.

“ However, our team of  engineers had since swung into action and power has been fully restored back to the Terminal and seamless operations have ensued.,” She said.

Yakubu who reiterated the commitment of FAAN to ensure safety and security at the airports under its control, however apologized to the passengers and other airport users for the short period the glitch lasted.

According to her: “While assuring airport users of safety and security at our airports, FAAN wishes to apologize to passengers, airlines and the general public for the inconvenience caused by this interruption.”
