Fifteen years into successful scheduled domestic operations in Nigeria, Overland Airways will start its international operations with announcement of scheduled operations to two routes in West African region – Cotonou, Benin Republic and Lome, Togo Republic.
The airline said regional scheduled flight operations which would begin on August 12, 2018, is part of its commitment to stimulate economic activities in Nigeria and the West African sub-region.
Speaking today at a media briefing held on Friday in Lagos to herald the airline’s expansion programme, its Chief Operating Officer( COO), Mrs. Aanu Benson said the Lagos-Cotonou – Lome flights which begin on August 12, 2018, will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Benson explained that the “operations to Cotonou and Lome are to offer choices to customers as our contributions to regional integration in West Africa. We want air travellers in the region to team up and discover one another while enjoying the excellent services we offer. It is an expression of Nigeria’s aviation renaissance in West Africa.”
The airline would operate the routes with ATR 42 and 72 aircraft as it looks forward to expand its fleet.e
Realising that one of the factors militating sustainable economic transformation in West Africa is smooth inter-connectivity, the airline’s COO said, “Overland Airways will facilitate a new environment for business, leisure travellers, families, students, and more essentially bolster that bonding amongst the peoples and groupings in the region. There is need to reinforce unity and prosperity at the regional level”.
She also emphasised on the airline’s commitment to serve the economy and the customer.
