Overland Airways has attained ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) certification, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s continued commitment to operational excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction.
The certification follows months of rigorous audits and scrutiny conducted in line with
international best practices established by the International Organization for
Standardization. The certificate was formally presented at a ceremony held at the
airline’s Head Office Boardroom at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
In her opening remarks, the Chief Administrative Officer and ISO Champion, Mrs. Aanu
Benson, highlighted that the achievement reflects the airline’s dedication to embedding
quality into every aspect of its operations. The certificate presentation was led by Mr.
Managing Director of National Employers Consultative Association (NECA) Global, Noruwa Edokpolo alongside auditor Miss Ibukun Ajala.
Also speaking at the event, Fine Spectra Consult, Mr. Williams Onwuka commended
the airline for its discipline and commitment throughout the certification process.
Delivering the closing remarks, the Managing Director, Captain Edward Boyo,
emphasized the strategic importance of the certification:
“This is a valuable, powerful certification that will guide us going forward. For us, it is
more than a principle, it is a way of life.”
Overland Airways’ Executive Director, Mrs. Aduke Atiba, delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the collective effort of staff and partners who contributed to the achievement.
This milestone complements the airline’s existing 11 years IOSA certification and
membership of the the International Air Transport Association(IATA) reinforcing
Overland Airways’ adherence to globally recognized safety and quality benchmarks.
Together, these certifications position the airline as a leader in delivering reliable, safe,
and customer-focused air transport services in Nigeria and across the region with the
reintroduction of Ibadan, Warri and Minna routes.
Overland Airways is an airline company registered to operate charter and
scheduled passenger and cargo flights. The airline commenced operations in 2002 with the aim of increasing the prosperity of the Nigerian hinterland by facilitating the
transportation of businessmen, investors, government officials and indigenes from one
point to another and till date, is the pride of Nigeria in the airline industry.
Overland Airways operates afleet of modern aircraft including the Embraer E-175 jets,
ATR-42s, ATR-72s and Beechcraft 1900Ds; and facilities to provide high standard of service.
The airline has taken delivery of two brand new fully-owned Embraer E-175 jets out of the six E-175 jets it ordered since the 2021 Dubai Airshow. The Order was worth USD 285 Million, at list price, with all options exercised.
