The much awaited take off of the construction of Lagos – Ibadan Standard Guage Railway System would begin on Tuesday March 7, 2017 as Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) is set to perform the Ground Breaking of the project.
The event which will hold at the Ebute Metta Railway Terminus, Lagos would be the Second Segment of the Lagos-Kano Standard Gauge Railway System with an extension to the Lagos Port Complex, Apapa.
The historic event which will takeoff by 11:00 am will be attended by important dignitaries cutting across the spectrum of the society including State Governors, Captains of Industry and Stakeholders in the Transportation Sector.
Honourable Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, will be the Chief Host at the ground breaking ceremony.
On completion, the Lagos-Kano Railway Standard Gauge Project will not only generate massive employment for the teeming youths but also help to bridge the Infrastructural deficit in the Transportation Sector of the economy.
