The Deputy Governor, Ondo State, Hon Alfred Agboola Ajayi has felicitated with the Minister of State, Labour and Productivity and the immediate past senator representing Ondo Central Senatorial district, Senator Donald Omotayo Alasoadura as he joined the club of septuagenarians globally.
Ajayi, in a statement made available to africanbusinesstravel.com.ng issued by his spokesperson, BabatopeOkeowo noted that it is not an easy task for an individual to attain the age of 70 years in a country where life expectancy is less than 50 years.
“I wish to join other well-meaning Nigerians to congratulate Senator (Chief) Donald Omotayo Alasoadura as he joins the septuagenarian club.
Attaining the age 70 is not easy in a country where life expectancy is less than 50 years,” he said..
Reflecting on the life of the celebrant, the deputy governor asserted it is worthy of emulation, looking at his humble beginning and the level he attained in his chosen career said:“Your life is worthy of emulation as you rose through the ranks to become a chartered accountant in your chosen profession of accountancy.
“You joined Ayanfalu Balogun Badejo&Co, a renowned firm of Chartered Accountants in Lagos as a messenger and later through dint of hard work, you rose to a position of an articled clerk and thereafter, you got to the highly exalted position of the Managing Partner/Chief Executive Officer/ Chairman of the Firm
“In the political circle, you also rose through the ranks to attain a lofty height in the politics of Nigeria. From being a Chairman, Governing Board of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, you became a Chairman of the Forum of Commissioners of Finance in Nigeria, Senator of the Federal Republic and now, a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”..
The deputy governor who added that attaining the 70years by Senator Alasoadura barely two days after he was inaugurated as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, was nothing but a deserved reward to a thoroughbred professional and a committed party man, said he has no doubt that the celebrant woold do Ondo State proud in this new assignment as he had done in the past.
“Attaining 70 years of age barely 48 hours after being inaugurated as a Minister representing Ondo State in the Federal Executive Council is not a mere coincidence but a clear attestation a well-deserved reward to a thoroughbred professional and a committed party man.
“I have no doubt in my mind that you will again make Ondo State proud in this new assignment like you did at every given opportunity. Once again, accept my hearty congratulations,” he added.
