The newly appointed Manager at Ibadan Airport, Oyo State, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mr. Afolabi Ojo has hit the ground running as he resumes at the airport.
Ojo who assumed office about two weeks ago has since met with different stakeholders and community leaders within and around the airport.
Recently, as part of the efforts to boost security within and around the airport, he met with the Divisional Police Officer, Ibadan Airport, Airport Command, Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and heads of other agencies at the airport.
He succeeded Mrs Oghenetega Ayenuro, who retired after 35 years in the service of FAAN.
Ojo who is not new to Ibadan airport was appointed as the manager at the same airport in 2016 where he served for just one year before he was transferred to Port Harcourt Airport as manager.
The new manager at Ibadan airport is a fellow of many professional bodies in Nigeria among which are: Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Institute of Taxation and Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management.
He is also a member of Chartered Institute of Management (NIM).
He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance.
He was the Head of Accounts at Headquarters Federal Airports of Nigeria (FAAN) between 2005 and 2008.
Ojo had worked with Peat Marwick Ani Ogunde & Company and JBA Associates Limited.
He was also the Finance Controller at CERPAC Group.
As the new manager at Ibadan Airport, Ojo would be expected to bring his expertise as a financial manager and seasoned administrator both in the private and public sectors to work and turnaround the fortune of the airport which many regarded as not viable.
At PortHarcourt Airport, Ojo deployed his professional ingenuity and experiences to work and boosted the revenue profile of the Garden City Airport, making it as one of the four most profitable airports in Nigeria.
