Following an appeal against the decision of Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) revoking Omni-airline’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC) by its letter dated January 30, 2025, on allegations of infringement of Part 1.2.1.5 Nig.CARs, the NCAA has cleared Omni-Blu Aviation Limited and reinstated its Air Operators Certificate ( AOC) .
These were contained in a statement issued by the management of the airline on Monday March 3, 2025.
“We are pleased and relieved to announce that Omni-Blu has been cleared of any wrongdoing and
its Air Operators Certificate No. OBA/AOC/12-15/002, reinstated, ” the statement said.
Clarifying the development, the management of OBA limited said, “NCAA vide its letter dated February 28, 2025 with ref: NCAA/DGCA//DLS/CS/2025/013
stated that Omni-Blu Aviation deduced further evidence to prove that the download analysis and issuance of the falsified readout report for avionics equipment on the Sikorsky S76C+ helicopter with MSN 760486 and Reg. Mark 5N-BQG was facilitated by the
aircraft Owner/Operator Eastwind Aviation Limited.
“Consequently, the NCAA determined amongst other things that: –
– there was no active participation by Omni-Blu Aviation in the series of events leading up to the falsification of the readout report.
– there was no intention to falsify or knowledge of the falsification on the part of OmniBlu Aviation.”
The management of the airline therefore thanked the NCAA appeal review panel and the D-GCA for painstakingly review the appeal.
“We wish to thank the NCAA appeal review panel and the D-G NCAA for painstakingly and dispassionately undertaking this administrative review and reaching a most equitable
decision.
“We also wish to thank our client’s, customers, stakeholders, industry friends and wellwishers, and everyone who through calls, text messages and visits showed solidarity,
believing in us and our avowed integrity through this most difficult experience,” OBA said.
In its almost a decade of obtaining its AOC, and commencement of its commercial operations, the management of Omni-Blu Aviation Limited insisted that it has never been implicated for any sharp practice in any of its activities,. This is just as it reiterated its commitment to prioritise safety in the industry.
“It is worthy of note that 2025 will be the tenth (10) year since OBA obtained its AOC and started commercial flight operations, never has she been implicated for any sharp practice
or cutting of corners in other to obtain any certifications or approvals from the NCAA. OBA continues to be particular about safety, and compliance with all regulation. It is a company that holds itself to high ethical standards.,” said the statement.
The statement added that Omni-Blu remains committed to its values, excellent service delivery, and compliance wih regulation in the conduct of its business.
