In the wake of the inauguration/induction of newly appointed Chief Executives and Directors of Aviation agencies by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace development, Barr Festus Keyamo (SAN), Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr Ahmed Umar Farouk has highlighted the pivotal role of performance bonds in advancing the aviation sector.
Farouk therefore pledged NAMA’ s dedication to surpassing expectations, tackling challenges, and aligning with the Honourable Minister Festus Keyamo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope initiative and agenda.
Accentuating the agency’s commitment to enhancing communication in Nigerian airspace, he declared an emergency on power challenges, emphasizing that the agency had secured immediate government approval for the overhaul and modernization of the country’s airspace communication architecture.
Farouk who reassured the public of NAMA’s unwavering commitment to optimal performance, with a focus on benefiting the Nigerian community, stated: “The communication architecture of Nigerian airspace is now broadened, addressing issues that were prevalent before. We are dedicated to ensuring seamless communication between pilots and air traffic controllers.”

This is a very good step in the right direction. However, it should be noted that whilst equipments are being upgraded, lives of personnel Manning the tools should be improved upon especially the lives of the serving workers and importantly too pensioners that have spent all their productive years in serving the industry. Let the aviation start by paying aviation pensioners the FG approved palliatives to the pensioners who are the most vulnerable as it has done to the serving workers.
