Keyamo demands 10 year guarantee for Abuja second runway

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN) has demanded for a ten year guarantee before any repair work is carried out on the second runway at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport after its completion.

The minister made the demand on from the Management of Chinese Civi Engineering Construction Company (CCECC)), the construction company handling the project, during a visit to the site on Tuesday..

A statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Tunde Moshood, said that Keyamo warned the contractor against the use of substandard materials for the construction

“Please we need to be sure you guys are keeping to standard, How many years guaranty are you giving us? At least 10 years; because we will not rush for any procurement, years, after the completion of this project, so you must up your game,” Keyamo demanded.

In  his response, the Managing Director of CCECC, David Wang who agreed  to the 10 year guarantee request from the minister, promised to keep to standard and  deliver a long lasting hard-surfaced runway.

Keyamo is currently on facilty tour of thr Abuja Airport.
