Mr. Kabir Yusuf Mohammed has been appointed as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
Muhammed succeeded Capt Rabiu Yadudu whose tenure of office lapsed on Saturday May 20, 2023 after a four year tenure.
Until his new appointment, Mohammed was Chairman Aviation Roadmap Implementation Committee appointed by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Senator Hadi Sirika as well as the Regional General Manager (RGM). Central Region Airports, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN)/Airport Manager, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The newly appointed Chief Executive Officer at FAAN is a certified International Airport Professional as accredited by ICAO/ACI and he is coming with a wealth of experience as Professional Airport manager.
Mohammed had worked in various government and private organisations such as The Presidency, office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation; State House, Office of the Head of State, Commander-in-Chief; Special Assistant to the Minister of Environment; Special Assistant to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; Personal Assistant to the Chairman, National Fertilizer Company of Nigeria, Port-Harcourt; Personal Assistant to the Chairman, Frenchies; Personal Assistant to Chairman, A & Hatman Limited; Admin Manager Interlinks Insurance, Abuja and Admin Manager First Medical and Sterile Products.
Kabir, as he prefers been called, has a Degree in Geography; a Post Graduate Diploma in Management; Masters in Business Administration; and a Masters Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy. He joined FAAN in 2006 as Special Assistant to the then Managing Director; was Head of SERVICOM, MAKIA, FAAN, Kano. Chief Liaison Officer (CLO) FAAN Liaison Office, Abuja. Chief of Staff to an MD/CEO FAAN HQTRS, Lagos. He was Director, Lagos Operations, Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON).
He was the pioneer General Manager, Special Duties Department, FAAN.
He is a certified International Airport Professional as accredited by ICAO/ACI.
He is an alumnus of the International Visitors Leadership Program of the United States Government in 2007 (Transparency and Good Governance). He has a diploma in Airport Executive Leadership ACI/Concordia University. He also has a Certificate on Integrated Safety Management System from Singapore Aviation Academy.
Mohammed has a Management Certificate in Civil Aviation from ICAO/Concordia University comprising of Certificate in Strategic Management, Certificate in Human Resources and Certificate in Business Strategy. He also has certificate in Runway Safety Management (ACI); Certificate in Airport Business Operations (ACI). Other certificates include Airport User Charges;. Human Resources Management; Procurement and Financial Management,
Muhammed won the 2022 Distinguished leadership Award of International Airport Professional/ Community of Practice (IAPCOP).
Kabir is married with children. He enjoys reading and travelling.

Is the aviation industry now ceded to the north to manage? For the past 8 years virtually all the management positions in the industry have been filled by officers of northern extraction. This is unfair.

Why not allow the incoming administration to appoint these CEO’s ?. Also, why are these CEO’s constantly from one part of the country ?. Finally, the experience of this new man has been peripheral to Aviation a ministry he joined only in 2006. Just thinking,pls.
