Irate mob set Dangote truck ablaze as several persons lost in a multiple crash at Sango tollgate lo
At least seven persons have lost their lives in a multiple crash that at tollgate Ota, Lagos Abeokuta Expressway this morning.
The road crash which occurred at about 11:35 hours involved a Dangote Truck Ash coloured with no registration number, s Volks Wagen yellow coloured passengers bus, with registration number LSR128XP and a white coloured Sienna bus with registration number APP122CD.
The seven persons who lost their lives in the crash were made up of two male adults , three female adults, one male child and one female child ,
The injured were persons, made up of four male adults and six female adults.
While the Injured victims were rescued to Ota General Hospital, the corpses of the dead victims were deposited at the IFO General Hospital Morgue in Ogun State.
A total of 17 people made up of six 06 Male Adults, two male children eight Female Adults , and one female child
Irate mob protesting the incident have set ablaze the Dangote truck which they suspected caused the fatal crash.
Rescue Operation was on still ongoing as at the time of filing this report.
The FRSC Sector Commander, Ogun State Command Clement Oladele who confirmed the accident has commiserated with the relations of the victims and again warned that the area the crash occured is a black spot notorious for frequent crashes , which have claimed over 40 lives in the last five years and called on motorists especially articulated vehicles to drive cautiously whenever using that section of the corridor .
Oladele also advised passerbys to desist from turning into mobs and resorting to self help by wilfully destroying public properties or accidented vehicles, irrespective of the level of provocations , as there are standard ways of handling and reporting griviancies to appropriate law enforcement agencies.
The sector commander said members of the public can obtain details of the crash at the FRSC Command in Ota or contact the aforementioned medical facilities
Operatives of FRSC are at the scene managing the incident and has contacted the Fire Service to extinguish the inferno to make rescue operations faster .
