The Director General of Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt Chris Najomo has called on operators of Approved Training Organizations (ATOs) in the country to raise their level of compliances to regulations not only to sustain, but exceed the existing safety level in the aviation industry.
He made the call during his opening remarks of a three day workshop organised by the NCAA for Approved Training Organizations (ATOs) operators, at the NCAA Training Centre, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
In his remarks at the workshop, Najomo said the workshop became necessary because the industry is faced with the significant challenge of maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with the training organizations in the face of advancement in technology, evolving regulatory framework and increasing complexity in the industry
“Today, we face significant challenges in maintaining high standards of quality and compliance within our training organizations. Rapid advancements in technology, evolving regulatory frameworks, and the increasing complexity of aviation operations necessitate a proactive and collaborative approach,” he noted. “This workshop is an opportunity for us to share insights, discuss best practices, and foster a culture of transparency and accountability in our training programmes”
The Director General of the NCAA therefore said various aspects of compliance including regulatory requirements, evaluation etc would be looked into during the three day workshop.
“Throughout our sessions, we will explore various aspects of compliance management, including regulatory requirements, evaluation methodologies, and mechanisms for continuous improvement,” he said.
Participants at the three day workshop came from Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, Nigerian Air Force (NAF), MROs etc.
The DGCA therefore urged the particpants to see the workshop aa avenue to collaborate with NCAA and ensure the the ATOS do not only meet but exceed the expectations set by Nig!-CARs
He said, “Together, let us work diligently to ensure that our Approved Training Organizations not only meet but exceed the expectations set forth by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig-CARs).
