Following the latest redeployment of 69 senior officers of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) across the country, a new Comptroller has been appointed to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos Command of the service, she is Comptroller AO Adesokan
Adesokan was moved from Training and Staff Development (TSD) Abuja, to replace the Assistant Comptroller – General (ACG), Kemi Nandap who is redeployed to head the Combined Expatriate and Residence Permit Card Division (CERPAC) at the Service Headquarters, Abuja.
It would be recalled that the Comptroller General of Immigration Service Isah Jere Idris approved a Posting Order of Sixty-Nine (69) Senior Officers to Zones, Commands Formations across the country as contained in a circular vide NIS/HQ/ADM/4423/170 and dated August 1, 2022.
Adesokan is expected to bring her wealth of experience from TSD to the fore at the MMIA, Lagos Command known for highest number cases of Immigration related issues outside the Service headquarters.
Nnadap who resumed at the MMIA, Lagos Command in January 2022 was promoted Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration in June, 2022 and is now redeployed.
Nandap would be remembered for her high level of quality leadership and instilling discipline among NIS personnel at the command.
Some of her major achievements at the Command were the interception of a Nigerian-American who brought into the country his Service pistol and ammunition from United States of America and gotten some personnel of the Service involved in unethical practices to face disciplinary actions inline with the code of conduct of the Nigeria Immigration Service.
