Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has assured intending pilgrims and the general public of her readiness for seamless conduct of 2022 hajj operations.
This was made known by the Managing Director of the Authority, Captain Rabiu Yadudu at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport recently, during inspection of facilities at the airport.
According to Yadudu, the 2022 hajj operations will kick off at Maiduguri on the 9th June, with 3 major carriers viz; FlyNas Airline, Azman Airline and Max Air already licensed to airlift pilgrims at Lagos and Abuja airports from Friday, June 10, 2022.
Admonishing intending pilgrims to get to the airport early to avoid missing their flights, the FAAN boss noted that every requirement aimed at ensuring the safety, security and comfortability of pilgrims have been met already.
Captain Yadudu expressed confidence that the hajj operations will be successful, as he wished all pilgrims a successful pilgrimage
Our correspondent who visited Hajj terminal of Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos yesterday reported that the terminal was ready for operations.

Our correspondent who also sought to know the level of preparedness of border control agencies at the Lagos Hajj terminal reported that Personnel of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA), Port Health Services (PHS), EOD department of Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) have put their personnel to be deployed for the operations on alert.
Meanwhile, the first batch of Nigerian pilgrims were airlifted from Maiduguri Airport yesterday by Max Air.
