Following the announcement of the dates of Ekiti election by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) , the Ekiti State, an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in the state, Dr Wole Oluyede has called on all the people of Ekiti to troop out en masse to register for voters card to enable them exercise their franchise during the election.
Speaking at his campaign office in Ado Ekiti, yesterday, Oluyede said the future of Ekiti lies in the hands of the electorates and their abilities to choose a patriotic leader.
He said, “Ekiti at this time is facing huge and highly visible challenges in leadership. I have chosen to throw my hat in the ring to stem the corrosive tide that seeks to drown the future of Ekiti”
He added that among the 36 states in the country, Ekiti has what it takes to be rated as one of the richest states considering its natural endowments and agrarian nature.
He said this time around, Ekiti needs to do the needful to enable them perform their civic rights legitimately.
He said wealth creation as part of his political agendas for Ekiti, signifies the creation of a green economy for the future relevance of the state in a world powered by knowledge and ideas.
The Independent Electoral Commission last week announced that Ekiti governorship election will hold on July 14, next year.
.Oluyede therefore called on the people of Ekiti, the civil servants, private business owners, market men and women, students , transporters, farmers, drivers among others to create time, move out in their numbers and register for voters cards which qualify them to vote during the elections.
“…The future of Ekiti lies on the kind of leader they choose for themselves, my political agendas for Ekiti are suitable to take the state to a greater height” he added
