Former Chairman of Ekiti Chapter of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Mr. Rotimi Olanbiwoninu, aka Mentilo one of the seven persons were who were recently discharged and acquitted of a murder charge by a competent court in Ekiti State has paid a courtesy call on the leading All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in the state, Dr Wole Oluyede.
Olanbiwoninu visited Oluyede in his campaign office at Ajilosun, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, to show gratitude for the support the accused got during the period their trails lasted.
It would be recalled that the former RTEAN boss and six other members of his association who stood trails for alleged complicity in the murder of the former State Chairman of Ekiti Chapter, of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Omolafe Aderiye, were recently discharged and acquitted of the alleged crime by a court of competent jurisdiction, presided over by Justice Adekanye Lekan Ogunnoye. The case lasted for three years before it was finally thrown out early this year.
Olanbiwoninu said the essence of the courtesy visit on the aspirant was to express appreciation on the kind gestures of Dr Oluyede during the turbulent period.
The road transport union boss who described Oluyede as a great political icon, an astute leader filled with blessings, stated aspirant is a leader with the kind of patriotic attributes which Ekiti must not miss.
Oluyede who is the endorsed APC Candidate of Ikere Development Forum (IDF), congratulated the acquitted, saying “the judgment given the seven accused persons by the court of law in Nigeria is an evidence of a sound visibility in the Judiciary system.”
