The Federal government has removed Emirates Airlines from the list of airlines allowed to operate into the country.
This was made known today, by the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika via his personal Twitter handle.
Sirika who did not state the specific reason for stopping the airline’s operations into the country, only stated that the airline’s situation was reviewed and they are included on the list of airlines not approved to operate into the country.
Sirika added that the ban would take effect from Monday September 21, 2020.
Emirates was among the airlines earlier given approval to operate into Nigeria when the country open its airspace to scheduled International flight operations on September 5 after a partial lift of lockdown on flight operations.
The PTF sub committee met today with EU Ambassadors to discuss Lufthansa, Air France/KLM ban. The meeting progressed well. Emirates Airlines’s situation was reviewed & they are consequently included in the list of those not approved, with effect from Monday the 21st Sept. 2020🇳🇬
