The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has described as false, a media report linking the wife of Minster of Transportation, Rt. Hon Rotimi Amaechi to an assault on airport officials.
FAAN in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, a copy of which was made available to African Business Travel News (ABTN), said the misunderstanding at the airport as reported by an online medium was between airport security and personnel of an airline and has nothing to do with the minister’s wife.
“Our attention has been drawn to a trending story to the effect that the wife of the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Mrs Judith Amaechi supervised the assault and manhandling of some airport officials on the May 26, 2018, because she was refused boarding an Air Peace flight from Port Harcourt to Abuja.
“The Authority will like to state emphatically that the incident has nothing to do with the Honourable Minister’s wife, it was between some security personnel at the airport and airline officials”..
