Newly promoted and decorated personnel of Aviation Security Directorate, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) attached to Samuel Ladoke Akintola International Airport Ibadan Oyo State have been admonished to see their new promotions and decorations as motivators to continue their dedication and service, ensuring the highest standards of security and professionalism at their duty posts
The message was delivered on behalf of the management at FAAN Headquarters in Lagos by the Aviation Chief of Security at Ibadan Airport, Mr. Victor Adeya during the decorations of the newly promoted AVSEC personnel at the Airport.
Adeya who encouraged the newly promoted officers to see their advancement as a powerful motivator said, “This promotion is a multimillion-dollar piece of advice: let it inspire you to excel,” he urged.
While congratulating the officers, he advised them to uphold exemplary behavior within the airport and its surroundings.
In his address, Aviation Chief of Security described the day as highly auspicious, noting that in his tenure at Ibadan Airport, he had never witnessed such a large number of senior staff being promoted simultaneously.
“History is being made today with the elevation of so many officers to high ranks. In my five years here, this is unprecedented. This sets a new standard for our department,” Mr. Adeya remarked.
Acting Manager Mr. Francis Balogun who was represented by Mr. B.Akinboun, extended his congratulations to the newly promoted officers, emphasizing the importance of commitment to the organization’s growth.
“This promotion is a privilege. Be grateful to God and to the organization for this opportunity,” Balogun stated.
Among those promoted were Lateef Kazeem Olabamidele, who moved from Chief Security Officer (CSO) to Assistant General Manager (AGM); Oluwasegun Ifelayo Adeola, from Assistant Chief Aviation Security Officer to Chief Aviation Security Officer (CASO); Onaolapo Funmi Stella, from Chief Aviation Security Superintendent (CASS) to Officer-in-Charge of Crime Investigation and Intelligence Unit; and Owonubi Owolabi Luke, from Crime Officer to Chief Aviation Security Officer (CASO).
Others included Akintola Adetunwase Soliu, who advanced from 21C to Assistant Chief Aviation Security Officer (ACASO); Abraham Faith Zenith, from 21C to Assistant Chief Aviation Security Officer (ACASO); Akinwande Michael Oluwasegun, from Officer-in-Charge of Standard and Compliance Unit to Assistant Chief Aviation Security Officer (ACASO); and Bakare Binta Olabisi, from 21C/Shift to Principal Aviation Security Officer (PASO).
Additionally, Agboola Kayode Idowu was promoted from 31C to Senior Aviation Security Officer (SASO); Irande Jonah Rimam, from 31C/Shift to Senior Aviation Security Officer (SASO); and Folajin Bola Abidemi was elevated to Aviation Security Superintendent (ASS I).
Other advancements included Adegoye Adebayo David, from Officer-in-Charge of ODC/Technical Service to Aviation Security Superintendent (ASS II); Ibrahim Seun Ezekiel to Aviation Security Superintendent (ASS II); Sanni Rhoda Opeyemi to Aviation Security Superintendent (ASS II), and Ige Oluwole Olusola to Aviation Security Superintendent (ASS II).
The ceremony was attended by several notable figures in the Aviation Industry, Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, Ibadan, among whom were, Head of the Public Affairs Department, Mrs. Shakirat AbdulMajeed, Head of the Department of Human Resources Mrs. Ike Ego, Representative of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mrs. Okunade D.O., and Representative of the Nigeria Immigration Service Mr. Olayemi.
