,,,Appeals to passengers to arrive early
Management of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has relocated thevprocessing of passengers from terminal 1 to the newly constructed terminal 2 of Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos
The relocation which began effectively on Wednesday came earlier than the scheduled date directed by Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Barr Festus Keyamo (SAN).
FAAN in a statement signed by its Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mallam Abdullahi Yakubu-Funtua explained that the exercise has to take place earlier than scheduled after a fire incident that occurred at the terminal one of the airport on Wednesday.
“The expedited relocation to the new International terminal at MMIA was deemed necessary due to the unfortunate fire incident that occurred at the International Terminal 1 on Wednesday,” said Yakubu-Funtua
The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN) had during his maiden visit to Lagos airport directed management of FAAN to relocate airlines operating in the old terminal to the new tnrminal by October 1, 2023 to give room for the total overhaul of the terminal to improve passenger.
While promising to ensure that the movement is seamless, management of FAAN therefore appealed to intending passengers to arrive early at the airport to process their check-in.
We intend to make this movement as seamless as possible but appeal to all travellers to please be at the airport early enough to complete their check-in formalities on time in avoid missing their flights.,” The statement said.
