Passengers on board an Asky flight from Lome Togo that arrived at Abuja on Sunday, were full of excitements and praises when they experienced the state – of – the – art airport facilities available for their uses as they disembarked into the newly commissioned international Terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport ( NAIA) Abuja shortly after their flight landed in the airport
The flight which took off from Lome .Togo and operated with a Boeing 737 aircraft, was the first flight to use the new terminal
Some Nigerian passengers who were onboard the flight could not hide their excitements over the international standard of the facilities. They were full of praises to President Muhammadu Buhari for given the nation a world class international airport terminal less than a year after one of the nation’s international airport terminals was categorised among the worst in the world.
The 91 passengers and six crew on board the flight who were processed through the Nigeria Immigration Servicen ( NIS) counters shortly on arrival, proceeded to pick their luggage at the baggage claim.
One of the passengers who identified himself as Noah, said: ” the facility performed optimally to the praise and admiration of many.
“In fact, this is beautiful, truly magnificent. This is truly fine and there are no hassles, everything is as an airport should be. we should continue to have more of this”.
A female passenger also on board the flight was full of praises to President Buhari for bequeathing such a beautiful terminal to the nation within three years of his administration.
This is so beautiful, even the pictures here are amazing as the terminal is sparkling,. We must give Kudos to the government who did this within three years. I pray we are able to sustain this because this is indeed one of the best terminals I have been to”
With the arrival and departure of the Asky flight through the terminal, it has become operational and for the use of other airlines operating into the country
It would be recalled that the NAIA new terminal was commissioned by President Muhammed Buhari on December 22, 2018 stating that government remained committed to make Nigeria, a regional headquarters for aviation.
NAIA is among the four terminals covered by the $600 million loan funded by the Chinese Exim Bank (US$500 million) with(US$100 million) counterpart funding from the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The arrival and departure of the Asky flight through the terminal, signified that the terminal was operational and ready for the use of other airlines operating into the country
