Chairman, Ekiti South Senatorial District, All Progressive Congress (APC), Honourable Kayode Babade has declared that the political party is the only masses- oriented party that can tackle the challenges of poor economy bewildering the people of the state.

For this to be realized, Babade insisted that APC led administration must come to power in the state in 2018.

The APC stalwart made the declaration, yesterday at Emure Ekiti, headquarters of Emure Local Government Area of the state during the meeting of APC in Ekiti South Senatorial district.

He called APC leaders to mobilize eligible voters in their wards for registration, saying’’ any member who has not registered is the enemy of the party’.’

Honourable Babade also declared that the roles of women in electioneering cannot be over emphasised.

APC governorship aspirants and their representatives from the South and Central Senatorial Districts who  attended the meeting included  Dr Wole Oluyede, Chief Dele Okeya, Mr. Debo Ranti Ajayi ,Otunba Muyiwa Olumilua and Engr.Kayode Ojo  who was represented.

The meeting was also attended by a huge number of APC members and sympathisers from the three senatorial districts in Ekiti and who openly declared their supports for the governorship ambition of Dr Wole Oluyede in the presence of other aspirants.

The APC members chanted political songs and slogans all in supports of the aspirant’s ambition.

Oluyede who in his remarks, recognised the importance of women in politics, declared that God who has the power to deliver Ekiti has promised to use him through Ekiti Rebirth Agenda to salvage the state from its present predicaments.

Commending the party’s leaders, especially the South Senatorial Chairman, Honourable Babade for qualitative leadership, Oluyede noted that the South Senatorial meeting was the first to take place in the state just as he insisted that it was due to the leadership effort in the south.

The aspirant  who appreciated the party’s state executives for their laudable efforts at taking the party to its present level despite problems it faces, said, ‘’opposition is not easy; otherwise the party would have degenerated. APC is a solid party’’

While he solicited for the teaming support of people for his governorship ambition, Oluyede enjoined APC members to come together and drive People Democratic Party (PDP) out of power in the state.

.

‘’The present administration in the state is full of deceits; the so called projects of the PDP are mischievous and targeted at wastes,” he said.

The aspirant promised all inclusive and participatory government if elected in 2018.

‘’Ekiti is blessed with human and material resources, yet the state is plunged into hardship by selfish leaders, who have no fear of God.

‘’Ekiti can only be rescued by our joint and collective efforts’’ Oluyede said.

The Chairman Ekiti South Senatorial District, Hon Babade commended Dr Wole Oluyede for his usual philanthropic acts and usual support to the party.

Babade explained that Oluyede’s ‘’usual act’’ of monthly transport fare subsidy to all the six local government areas in the south, during senatorial meetings is  commendable.

‘’Oluyede has done it again’’, rented the air, as the aspirant gave One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira (N`120, 000) to the six Local Governments of the district, during the  meeting.

Another aspirant, Mr. Muyiwa Olumilua, said that all southern aspirants are ready to work together to support whoever emerged as governorship candidate of the party among them.

Chairman, Ekiti South for Governor’s Forum, Chief Oluwole Ariyo at the meeting appreciated youth, women and in particular, the Ekiti Elders’ Forum for their candid voice and unwavering supports.

The South for Governor’s forum Chairman  who expressed  optimism that Ekiti South senatorial  district  will produce the next governor in 2018 said, ‘’ the southern aspirants are well equipped, united in their concerns and ready to join whoever emerges, and that  none of them will  decamp to another party.’’

Chief Ariyo said the quality and standard of Southern aspirants dispelled the insinuations  from some quarters that South has no capable and electable candidate.

He affirmed that the district is blessed with excellent sons and daughters thriving well in their various endeavours and ready to support Ekiti with their God given human and material resources.

Among the prominent people from the South Senatorial Meeting who graced the occasion was Hon. Makinde  Araoye who Babade  commended for his prompt attention.

Babade said, ‘’though not an aspirant as at today, Araoye is a prominent son of southern district  from Ilawe Ekiti who can be described as a friend of the masses for his usual empowerment programmes  that cut across  Ekiti South  Senatorial District.

He noted that Araoye has slated another empowerment programme for December in Ikere.

‘’This is also a pointer that Ekiti South is richly blessed with people who can make good impacts in the state’’ he said.
