Eligible voters in Ekiti South Senatorial District have been called to exercise their voting right to ensure the defeat of People Democratic Party (PDP)  in the forthcoming  governorship election in the state.

The call was made in Ikere-Ekiti, Headquarters of Ikere Local Government Area by Chairman APC Ekiti South Senatorial District, Honourable Kayode Babade during a meeting of the members of the party from Ekiti South Senatorial District.

Speaking at the political meeting, Babade who charged his members on co-operation and discipline, called the people of state to vote out the ruling PDP during the 2018 governorship election in Ekiti.

The APC leader noted that PDP in the state has disappointed the people beyond their imaginations.

According to him, “Fayose has ruined the global name of Ekiti, jostling around and abandoned governance.”

He said, “Fayose owes workers eight months’ salaries, pensioners, eleven months while leave bonuses are left unpaid”.

Babade alleged that Governor Fayose has diverted the bailout fund meant for the benefits of Ekiti People to yet to be known sources

.

The APC chieftain who described the Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose as a trouble maker who always jostles around, fomenting troubles and abandoning governance said, “If he does not demolish petrol stations, mosques, he would uproot traditional tree.”

The Ekiti South Senatorial Chairman of   ruling party in the country therefore assured teeming members and supporters of APC at the meeting that PDP ‘s defeat in the governorship election come 2018 is no longer an issue.

While calling on the people of Ekiti to reject PDP and Governor Fayose during the election, Babade urged them to say “Enough is enough for Fayose and PDP,”  saying “PDP has destroyed Ekiti treasury.

Babade who also bemoaned governor Fayose on his style of criticising President Muhammadu Buhari administration said:  “Fayose lacks respect for elders.”

In attendance at the meeting were, APC State Publicity Secretary, Rt. Hon Taiwo Olatunbosun, Chairman Ekiti South for Governor’s forum, Chief Oluwole Ariyo, other prominent APC stalwarts,   governorship aspirants from Ekiti South Senatorial District among whom are  Eng. Kola Alabi from Ikere local government, Professor Adetiloye  Ise/ Orun Local government, Gbenga Aluko, Gbonyin local government and Dr.  Wole Oluyede  from Ikere Ekiti and thousands of party faithful.

Oluyede who supporters of Ekiti South Agitation described as   ‘’… the Best Man for the job,” was born and bred in Ekiti with a strong pedigree in public service.

According to the supporters, his ambition to run for governorship position in Ekiti  State was borne out of his desire to “reset the Values Ekiti is known for, which is about bringing back genuine commitment to the public good, bringing back hard work, dignity, and  restore the state to its pride of place and reckoning in Nigeria”.

Taking the shine off other aspirants at the meeting was Dr. Oluyede who has travelled and worked across the globe in various countries such as the United States of America, Canada, the Caribbean and Australia.

It was gathered that the medical expert has an edge among other aspirants because of  the  extensive international experience he has acquired  and networks he has built  over the years.

According to reports, people in Ekiti have been able to point out a salient point that gives Oluyede a high rank among the contestants

They said “despite Oluyede’s extensive travels across the world, he has essentially remained a Nigerian and an Ekiti man religiously, preserving and nurturing his roots.

In his statement,  the Director-General Wole Oluyede Campaign Organization, Honourable Ogundele Gabriel while speaking with journalists at the campaign headquarter located at Ajilosun in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital,  ‘the mission of Oluyede for Ekiti is to reset the foundations of Ekiti-State by bringing back the recognition of dignity in hard work which serves as a basis for prosperity and delivered through well- thought out processes and comprehensive strategic framework.

Ogundele said that “the Ekiti Oluyede envisages is the one that will be firmly positioned on the West African Map as the best African model for eco-tourism and large scale farming ventures.” That, according to him “would harness the natural advantage of Ekiti and work more positively for its progress and in a manner that brings about sustainable livelihood for both its young and old people.”
