Committee of friends of Late Alhaji Jubril Abiola Shodimu gathered on Friday morning to offer prayers to mark the first anniversary of the death of their beloved friend and former colleague.
The friends and well wishers within the aviation community gathered at the ACHAN Car Park Mosque, Murtala Muhammed International Airport,Lagos to offer the prayers.
Speaking during the short prayers session, the Imam of the mosque, Alfa Kamil Abdulwahab admonished the sympathisers to see death as the last phase every living being must experience in life and which can happen at anywhere or time.
Alfa Abdulwahab therefore urged everyone present to live their lives for the service of Allah and humanity.
The clergyman who prayed to Almighty Allah to protect and bless the family and friends left behind by the deceased, therefore called on those in attendance to emulate the good virtues Alhaji Shodimu was known for.
Alhaji Biola Shodimu died on October 30, 2019 after a brief illness and was buried on the same day according to Islamic rite at his house in Abule Iroko, Sango Otta Area, Ogun State.
He was survived by a son, Mr. Ahmed Abiodun Shodimu and a wife, Mrs. Tolulope Shodimu.
The late Shodimu was a General Manager, Aviation Security, (AVSEC) Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), a position he held till he retired from the aviation agency.
