(BASL) and the Rano Air shortly after the inaugural flight of the newest domestic airline to Murtala Muhammed Airport terminal two (MMA2) Lagos on Sunday.
The management and staff of Bi-Courtney Aviation Service Limited (BASL) led by the Acting Chief Operating Officer, Tosan Duncan, and Head of Operations, Blessing Ewah welcomed Rano Air into their Murtala Muhammed Domestic Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), Lagos.
Rano Air, the newest entrant into domestic flight operations in Nigerian which operated its inaugural flight from Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) Kano to Murtala Muhammed Airport Ikeja, Lagos arrived at exactly 2:50pm on Sunday, May 7, 2023.
A 50 seater Embrier E145 used to operate the flight taxiied to the apron of MMA2 where 35 passengers on board disembarked.
The return flight was also operated from the MMA2 terminal had 45 passengers on board to Kano.
Though he declined to speak with journalists who were around to receive the flight, the Pilot in Command, Capt comment after arriving at the Pilot, Captain Moses Egbekun, looked excited seeing the warm reception put together by the management and staff of BASL at the terminal.
Commenting on the flight and the equipment, a passenger who arrived on board said: “The plane is so new. The flight was so smooth. We hope this luxurious experience can be sustained.”
The flight was greeted with traditional water canon as it taxiied into MMA2 apron.
Water canon in aviation, is a symbolic act interpreted as a welcoming blessing for safety of flight operations/act of baptism into the trade.
Speaking on the development, Ewah, said the latest addition to number of airline companies plying their trade with MMA2, “is the manifestation of BASL’s commitment to upholding global best practices at providing a conducive environment for business, comfort, safety, and security of airlines, passengers, vendors, and other users of the terminal.
“This is a further validation of our groundbreaking success in the construction and management of airport infrastructures, which is a safe zone for airlines to do their business and provide topnotch services to the flying public,” he added
