Aviation Security (AVSEC) Retirees Association is billed for inauguration; African Business Travel News ABTNEWS can confirm.
The event which will hold on Saturday November 23, 2024 at the Pilot Lounge, Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos .
The special occasion tagged AVSEC Retirees Reunion, with the theme, Celebrating the Years of Service and Comradeship will have the Managing Director/ CE of FAAN, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku as the Special Guest of Honour.
Speaking with our correspondent, the Secretary of the Association, Deacon Bamidele Adewunmi said other dignitaries expected at the event include the incumbent Director of Aviation Security Services (DASS) FAAN, Assistant Commissioner of Police Afegbai Albert Igbafe( Rtd), former Managing Directors/CEs of FAAN, the Immediate Past DASS, Group Capt Usman Sadiq Rtd; the first General Manager AVSEC, Dr Ayo Obilana and all AVSEC retirees (male and female).
Also expected are, the Six Regional Airport Managers, Managing Directors CEOs of SAHCO, NAHCO and other stakeholders within the Aviation industry.
The AVSEC Retirees Association, like those of their counterparts in other national security services, provides the umbrella for all AVSEC retirees to relate regularly, promote their welfare, foster unity and spirit of comradeship among themselves after their service years and to serve as a repertoire of knowledge for the service.
Aviation Security (Avsec) is a great Pilar in the Nation’s Aviation industry since time immemorial of Nigeria Airports Authority (NAA), now known to be Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN). One United directorate that developed and progress to meet the changing world of Avsec Standard, with its experience Mindsets Retirees across the Nation Airports from different parts of the Nation, who worked together as one United disciplined family, the existed team work sprit in service gingered the AVSEC retirees,who were guarded by the common felt needs to protect and safeguard the life and property in the industry, feels it necessary to sustain such Unity by reunion ourselves, as one of the important aspect of our life after retirement. To meet, communicate, locate our whereabout with situation report of our condition of subsistence, render help and assistance not only to ourselves, but in regard to anything that may uphold the integrity of the directorate and FAAN in general.

The inauguration of Aviation Security retirees Association is a welcome development. The role being played by Aviation Security in border security can not be overemphasized by safeguarding civil aviation against acts of unlawful interference. I wish all the Aviation Security a memorable event.
