The Rector Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Zaria, Captain Abdussalami Abubakar has said professionalism is vital to effective report of aviation Industry, just as his colleague and the Director General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Capt Muhtar Usman insisted that training and retraining of professionals in the industry would not be compromised
The two Chief Executive Officers made these known at the flag off ceremony of the 2019 League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) Course sponsored by NCAA and Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) at the College auditorium
Capt. Abdussalami said before reporters could meaningful report the aviation industry, they must have good knowledge of what the industry is all about.
“Not all journalists can be aviation reporters unless they acquired the basic idea or knowledge of the operational mode of the industry,” he noted.
In his remarks, the D-G, NCAA, who was represented by the Deputy General Manager Public Relations, Mr Joe Mohammed Jimoh described the training as very important and vital to the aviation correspondents.
Muhtar said the training will accord the participants a direction on how to properly report activities in the aviation industry.
Also speaking at the occasion, Chairman LAAC Olusegun Koiki appealed to the agencies under the aviation industry to ensure that the training is held annually as scheduled.
Doing this, Koiki noted would accord aviation reporters the opportunities to acquire the much needed knowledge of how to report the industry properly
