The House of Representatives Committee Chairman on Aviation, Honourable Nnolim Nnaji has appealed to aviation workers to sheath their swords and prepare to present their greviancies against the concession of airport concession the National Assembly.
Honourable Nnaji who was reacting to the peaceful protest embarked by the aviation unions on Monday assured them that both committees of the Senate and House of Representatives will assidiously intervene in the matter as soon as soon as possible..
He commended the workers for being civil in their protest and told them that his committee and that of his senate counterpart will organise a meeting that will offer all stakeholders the opportunity to ventilate their opinions on the matter.
The lawmaker further assured the protesting workers that all their fears will be addressed during the meeting stressing that the conclusions that will be reached at the end of the day will be for the best interest of the country.
Honourable Nnaji urged the workers to call off their protest so as to create room for dialogue to resolve all the contentious issues arising from the proposed concession arrangements.
He noted that the impact of the corona virus pandemic on aviation industry is such that will not warrant labour crisis at this early stage of restart of local and international air travels.
Honourable Nnaji who represents Nkanu East/West Constituency of Enugu State in the Federal House of Representatives said he believe the Honourable Minister, Senator Hadi Sirika will not go against whatever decision that will be best for the industry and the nation.,
“l know that if you, (workers,) present a superior position on the matter, he will respect your views”.Nnaji further stressed.
He equally reassured the workers that the two Aviation committees of the Senate and House of Representatives will be sincere and patriotic in handling the matter during the meeting.
