FAAN closes Lagos runway 18L/36R for 3 months

The Management of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has concluded arrangements to complete the installation of CAT III Airfield Ground Lighting system on Runway 18L/36R at Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos

The project, which is part of efforts aimed at improving  safety and efficiency of flight operations at the Lagos airport, will commence on July 8, 2022, (today) and last for 90 days (about three months ).

“Consequently, Runway 18L/36R will be closed to flight operations during this time.”, the Authority said in a statement signed by its Spokeswoman, Mrs. Faithful Hope-Ivbaze.

FAAN, however, promised stakeholders that there will be no disruption to their activities as all normal flight operations will be conducted through runway 18R/36L.

According to FAAN, a Notice To Air Men (NOTAM) to this effect has already been published and disseminated accordingly.
