Following the announcement of Jimoh Ibrahim as the flag bearer of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 26, Governorship Elections in Ondo State a violent protest has erupted in Akure, the state capital.
Reliable information from the state informed African Business Travels.net that the protest which started as early as 6 am this morning has engulfed every part of the city.
The protesters according to our sources are mostly Akure indigenes and supporters of PDP who have sympathy for an Akure person to be the next Governor of the state.
It would be recalled that the a faction of the Party had earlier endorsed Mr. Eyitayo Jegede a senior advocate of Nigeria ( SAN ) as the flag bearer in the November 26 election.
But the table changed yesterday when INEC came out with another list that recognised Barr. Jimoh Ibrahim, a business mogul reputable for owing workers’salaries, buying and shut down thriving businesses, as the candidate of PDP in the state.
