The management of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria( FAAN) has said, notwithstanding the restrictions imposed on international flights operations to and from gateway airports in Nigeria, that all domestic airports under its control in the country are in operation.
FAAN, in a statement today by its spokesperson, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu therefore called on all intending domestic travellers to make use of the domestic airports for their local trips.
“FAAN hereby notifies the general public that although all international flight operations have been suspended, passengers can still travel within Nigeria unhindered.
We also use this opportunity to request all Passengers and other stakeholders to adhere strictly to all travel instructions and guidance in the interest of all,” the statement said.
It would be recalled that as part of the efforts of the Federal Government to stop and or contain the spread of the dread coronavirus COVID-19 from foreign countries through airports, the five gateway airports in the country were shut down by midnight of Monday March 23, 2020.
The gateway airports are expected to be reopened to scheduled international passenger flight operations on April 24, 2020.
