The Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) has released the preliminary investigation reports on the Caverton helicopter that crash landed in Kabba, Kofi State
Speaking at a media briefing held at Murtala Muhammed International, Airport, headquarters of the Bureau, the Commissioner, AIB, Engr. Akin Olateru said the report of the preliminary investigation showed that brown out was likely cause of the crash.
A brownout is the huge amount of dust that blows up in a dried open field when strong wind blows.
Though he said investigation into the accident continues, Olateru however, said the crash was avoidable if the operator of the chopper, Caverton Helicopters had prepared the area for the landing especially in an area where there is no approved helipad.
Further details coming.
