Two persons who are in the habit of impersonating as officials of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to harass expatriates and extort money from companies in the country have been arrested by the operatives of Nigeria Immigration Services Zone A, Ikeja, Lagos.
The suspects, Emeka John 66, male and James Eze 56, male were arrested on Monday August 20 at a Chinese company while attempting to carry out their illegal activities of harassing some expatriates working in the company in the process to defraud it of huge amount of money.
According to a statement by the Zonal Coordinator, Nigeria Immigration Service Zone A, Ikeja Lagos, Assistant Comptroller Mohammed Alhaji Alfa the suspects have been handed over to the police for further investigation.
Alfa who advised the general public, especially companies and organisations engaging the services of foreigners to be wary of activities of such fraudsters, said their illegal activities are a source of embarrassment to the immigration services.
