Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos

Management of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has demonstrated its desire to listen to objective and constructive criticisms that would enhance seamless passengers facilitation, comfort, safety and security at all airports under its control as it approved the opening of an additional gate to complement the existing gates at the new multi-storey carpark located at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

A statement by the General Manager Corporate Affairs, FAAN, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu said “The new entrance, situated along the Airline Services Limited (ASL) Blue Lodge Hotel road, became operational today, Wednesday November 8, 2017. It is expeted to ease vehicular traffic on the main road leading to the departure level of the airport terminal.

Yakubu added that the added facility now provided alternative entrance for airport users desirous of using the car park while facilitation would be expected to experience greater  improvement, especially as the yuletide season, usually characterised by heavy vehicular and human traffic is fast approaching.

The Authority appeals to travellers and other airport users to ensure compliance to parking rules and other security regulations at the airport, in the interest of all.

It would be recalled that stakeholders in the Lagos airport had expressed their concerns over the inadequate entry and exit points in the new facility.

The stakeholders who called for immediate solutions to the inadequacies noted in the facilities had expressed the fear of possible vehicular traffic gridlock in the airport as the Yuletide season approaches.
