…Describes Afe Babalola as exemplary figure

Founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, (ABUAD), Aare Afe Babalola has been commended for his efforts at promoting sound health and education in Nigeria as the nation witnessed inauguration of the university’s teaching hospital in Ado Ekiti today.
Giving words of commendation in honour of the legal luminary as ABUAD inaugurated a 400 – bed teaching hospital in commemoration of its fifth convocation of the university today, an All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Dr. Wole Oluyede has described Afe Babalola as a role model, worthy of emulation.
According to Oluyede, “Aare Afe Babalola is a strong pillar of progress, not only in Ekiti or Yorubaland but in Nigeria as a whole.
“His contribution to educational development in the country is commendable, especially the establishment of a University (ABUAD)) with international standard.
“The inauguration of a 400 – bed teaching hospital in ABUAD is a plus to health development in Nigeria
“Aare Afe Babalola’s immense contributions in the development of key sectors of humanity has justified his level of patriotism to his fatherland.
The aspirant therefore, called on well meaning individuals in Nigeria to emulate Aare
Afe Babalola, who he described as “exemplary figure worthy of emulation.”
Speaking on the graduation ceremony, Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Micheal Ajisafe had told journalists that 869 students will graduate with Bachelor’s Degree and 42 with postgraduate degrees.
He said 83 students will graduate with first class honours, 38 with Second Class Upper, 289 Second Class Lower and 110 third class.
Ajisafe said the teaching hospital is equipped with world class facilities to stop medical tourism abroad among Nigerians and to give the best training for students.
The Vice Chancellor said as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), ABUAD has started free health services including surgery for 2,000 people with various ailments.
He explained that the week long free medical services will be carried out by health experts from Nigeria, Asia and Europe at the complex of the teaching hospital.
The free medical mission, according to the Vice Chancellor, would be based on first come first served for patients are at the expense of university.
