…Charges on peace, unity
BY ADEWUMI ADEMIJU ADO EKITI
An All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Dr Wole Oluyede has rejoiced with the Muslim faithfuls across the country and In Ekiti State in particular on the celebration of this year’s Eidl Kabir
.
Oluyede said the basis of the festival was taken from the spirit of patience, dedication and perseverance as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim. He therefore calls on Muslims to imbibe the spirits in their conducts, at all times.
In a statement by the Director General, Dr Wole Oluyede Campaign Organization, Honourable Gabriel Ogundele, the aspirant said: “I felicitate with Muslims on Eidl Kabir, I also call on them to sustain the love of the season, even after the Sallah.”
He added, “Muslims, Christians and other religions are one. The bottom line is to allow peace to reign and see one another as brothers’ keepers. ’Irrespective of our origins: North, South, East or West; it should always be at the back of our minds that Nigeria is one, the unity must not be misplaced. Muslims and ’Christians must tolerate each other. Religion is a thing of peace.”
Oluyede therefore called on all religious groups to eschew violence in their dealings.
’We must exhibit love in our daily activities to continue to enjoy
peace as a prerequisite for development and growth in any society.”
